about new life, paradise & hell

There is a village in Central Russia called ‘New Life’. It would be intriguing to hear someone mention in a casual talk something like, ‘I’m going to New Life, wanna come?’ or ‘I’ve bought a house in New Life’… Then there is a township called Hell somewhere in Michigan, the US. Substitute with its name the underlined words in the previous sentences.

This made me remember a photo once taken on the island of Rhodes near Lindos of a sign indicating that the promised land of bliss and happiness is within reach, to the left:



To be fair, I’m not sure about the other places mentioned, but Lindos’ cozy almost-virgin bay did coincide with my idea of a heavenly landscape:
